Giving Tuesday at St. Mary's College

What is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday started in 2012 as a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

St. Mary’s College of Maryland embraced Giving Tuesday in 2014 and has raised nearly $1.5M on this global day of giving thanks to supporters like you. This year, we hope you’ll help us reach our goal of 2,000 donors on Tuesday, November 29 with a gift to the St. Mary’s Fund, the General Scholarship Fund, or to another SMCM fund of personal significance.

It’s simple. On Monday, November 28 at 4:00 p.m. through Tuesday, November 29 at midnight (EST), make a donation of at least $10 through the Giving Tuesday online giving form. Then, follow the excitement through this website and on social media throughout the day.
To the designation of your choice! We encourage you to consider one of the featured funds - the St. Mary’s Fund or the General Scholarship Fund - however you can always give to your favorite academic department, student club, varsity team, scholarship or any of the other 400+ SMCM funds. In the end, we just want you to BECOUNTED!
